Gosh, how time flies.
Last Tuesday, January 14th, marks the end of support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. Have you taken action?
If you have. Well done. There is no need to read any more of this article.
If you haven’t, then you need to be aware that from this date Microsoft will no longer offer bug fixes and security updates. This means that your business is potentially vulnerable to cyber-attacks, which exploit previously unknown vulnerabilities. But don’t panic, as FX7 Solutions is here to help you.
Why is this happening? Well, it’s because Microsoft is paving the way for more modern systems. And let’s be honest, with Windows 7 being more than 11 years old they simply can’t leave it going for ever. And, most businesses have naturally chosen to move away from Windows 7 already, taking advantage of more modern versions offering so much more capability.
What should you do next? Well, obviously an upgrade is now unavoidable. And to be honest its easy; If you are a Windows 7 user or you run your office server on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Small Business (SBS) Server 2011, then Microsoft has an array of options to help you move from the outdated operating system to something better and more suitable for your business.
Feel free to contact us, if you need to know more, even if it is to simply ask us to check/confirm what system you are on and if you need to take any action.
